Recapping an Inspiring First-Year at Dennis Smith Entertainment
With 2023 in the books, we are thrilled to share some of the highlights in our first year in business. We brought our innovative vision of custom entertainment to life in dozens of events across the country, creating joy and memorable moments for happy guests, brides, grooms, event planners. And, we inspired our network of artists, musicians and technicians to progressively improve their performance and production.
Custom, Personalized High-End Entertainment
We launched Dennis Smith Entertainment a year ago, founded by Dennis Smith, musician, composer, performer and producer, who led Party on the Moon to national top party band status. Dennis’ creative, innovative approach to designing and collaborating with artists and event producers to deliver personalized entertainment experiences includes new standards such as event narrative construction, multi-component and place musical performances, local community involvement, set and costume design, audience transitions, and custom music, choreography and staging.
Building a Network of Partners and Collaborators
In our first full year at Dennis Smith Entertainment, we also built connections with entertainment providers and top planners to expand our clients’ creative horizons and raise the bar in the quality of their event entertainment. Phat Strad, a Vegas-based, all-female electric string quartet, is one such collaboration that our clients enjoyed.
LA-based Zen Arts is another new partner who supports our top-end events with their ultra-talented and beautifully costumed dancers, aerialists and performers.
Establishing Community Through Entertainment
We particularly enjoy producing entertainment at events geared towards community engagement, philanthropy or milestone celebrations. We helped the Kingsport (TN) Chamber with its annual fundraiser celebrating community growth and youth engagement by incorporating local musicians into the program. Phat Strad musicians also joined to get the party rocking. One of our premium bands, Party on the Moon, has been performing at the Annual Kingsport Chamber Dinner for over a decade, and we’re thrilled to be headlining this event again in 2024.
We also had the special honor of producing a weekend of custom entertainment to celebrate a wedding in Saratoga, Wyoming. Party on the Moon traveled to Brush Creek Ranch in May to provide two nights of specialized entertainment tailored to the vision of our client. They performed a 2-hour authentic country show the first night, and conducted a traditional Catholic ceremony to accompany the wedding the next day. It was a weekend of joy that required careful preparation and close, personal interactions with our client.
Building a Team
Our core team has grown as well. Joining our group of musical directors, choreographers, storytellers and producers are Tanner Smith, our client service representative, and Nolan Dalton, our media + marketing associate. Tanner manages inbound inquiries and booking, liaises with artists and partners and ensures that all resources are lined up to meet clients’ needs and expectations. Nolan supports the online presence of Dennis Smith Entertainment web and social channels, assists with client education and provides design and storytelling services for client productions.
